Vaccine Bali: Does The Pneumonia Vaccine Help Against The COVID-19 Infection?

Until now turning to three last months of 2020 there is no vaccine available that can prevent the spread of coronavirus. Many issues spread in society are rife with myths and misconceptions surrounding all aspects of COVID-19. One speculation that takes much attention is the issue that claims pneumonia vaccine can help against the COVID-19 virus. Well, pro and contra opinions occur and take a long discussion of this concern. But, as to how social media can be access easily by people around the world, the false understanding of this issue will bring a bad impact on society. Many scholars and experts have still working on the research to create the coronavirus vaccine, then if this virus can be prevented by pneumonia shots, why are they wasting time and energy to find the new one?

Pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs. The air sacs may fill with fluid or pus (purulent material), causing cough with phlegm or pus, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing. A variety of organisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi, can cause pneumonia. We see here the symptoms of pneumonia likely very close to the coronavirus infections, but the fact is both of them are caused by different reasons. Therefore we cannot against the coronavirus with pneumonia vaccine as it is a kind of a single vaccine that was made against the virus, bacteria, germs that caused pneumonia. The pneumonia shot can help protect you against getting sick with other types of viruses, like influenza, but not from the coronavirus, which causes pneumonia all by itself.

There is no vaccine to protect you from coronavirus but there is a vaccine to protect against the cause of pneumonia. These vaccines do not protect you directly from coronavirus but it helps you to keep your lungs healthy and that is especially important while the new coronavirus is still spreading all around the world. That is because if you already have a lung infection that is caused by one bug, you more likely can catch the second bug into your lungs that will affect more bad conditions, and get seriously sick by this.

In another case, we often see that influenza can lead to secondary infections with other types of bacteria that the pneumonia shot prevents. But because coronavirus is bad enough on its own, the pneumonia shot does not offer protection against it. The shot of the pneumonia vaccine is not proper against coronavirus, it is also strengthened by the statement from the World Health Organization (WHO) that claims the pneumonia vaccine cannot protect against the COVID-19 infection. It is showed that the infection from the coronavirus is a new infection and there is no official vaccine that can be prevented from the COVID-19.

Nevertheless, the World Health Organization noted event pneumonia vaccine cannot protect us from coronavirus, it is still important for some people to get the pneumonia shot, regardless of COVID-19. The germs that caused pneumonia are still out there, they are not waiting on the sidelines for coronavirus to finish its job. The pneumonia shot is recommended for the following groups:

• All babies and children younger than 2 years old
• All adults 65 years or older
• Adults 19 through 64 years old who smoke cigarettes
• Children older than 2 adults younger than 65 who have certain chronic diseases (those that affect the heart, lung, and kidney)
• Those who are at increased risk for certain diseases (diabetes, chronic heart, lung, and liver disease) and those who have impaired immune systems.

Then, if you fall into one of these categories, talk to your doctor about getting a pneumonia shot to help protect you from getting sick from the viruses. But when it comes down to it, the pneumonia shot does not offer protection specifically against coronavirus.
